Cry
Wolf, the first Bruce Reynolds Rock Trio CD recorded in January 2009
in Basel. The CD was recorded in front of a few invited
friends at Dex's studio/ club in the Wettsteinallee Culture Centre .
We
had a great time doing the recording and we owe a big thanks to the
amazing Dex whose energy and professional approach made it all happen
smoothly.
The
best review I have heard so far is that it sounds like Cream. Thanks,
Andy Brühlman, rock afficionado supreme, for the extremely kind
words. Getting
anywhere close to the excellence of Cream is something every 3 piece
aspires to.
We
avoided the temptation of overdubbing in the studio and went for the
live, raw energy of the gig.
A
couple of the tracks are from my solo CD, Dedication, but have been
stripped down to a place where a three piece can handle them. "The
Source" has taken on a new life on the live CD, almost a surf feel
to what is a very Arabic sensation on "Dedication"
I
particularly love doing this. Songs and recordings take on a new life
when reduced to the minimum. As a lot of what we do on stage is improvised
it makes it exciting for us and our fans to see a new approach to tunes
they already know.
If
you want the same as the CD, stay at home and have a beer and listen
to it loud on the stereo. If you want to hear something breathing and
developing, come and see us live.
